Security operatives have arrested two Kenyans and one South Sudanese police officer for circulating fake notes in Eastern Equatoria.
Kapoeta South caretaker commissioner Martin Lorika Lojam said the suspects were using young children to exchange false 25-pound notes for legal money from traders in the market, Radio Emmanuel reported. He added that the suspects had with them 5,000 fake pounds in notes when they were detained.
Mr Lorika said the notes were tied in three bundles and had the same serial number.
He told the press that the arrests came after the police started investigating a network of fake money dealers after some victims presented complaints.
