SOUTH SUDAN OIL PIPELINE OVER 2,000 KILOMETRES LONG

The government announced today that the new pipeline connecting South Sudan’s oil fields with the port of Lamu, in Kenya, will be 2,100-kilometres long.

Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press today that the new pipeline will be built as soon as studies are ready in conjunction with Toyota’s plans for the Kenyan side.

He said the Government plans an alternative pipeline through Ethiopia to Djibouti.

Dr Marial added that the government has more exit options though various neighbouring countries.
