OIL SHUTDOWN PROCESS ON-GOING

The Minister of Petroleum and Mining told the National Assembly today that the of the shutdown of oil production is progressing well.

Stephen Dhieu Dau said a technical committee made up of senior staff, doctors and environment experts has been formed to assist oil closure proceedings.

He added that the current report on the procedures of the close down shows that they are progressing well.

Mr Dau asserted that some oil blocks has already been closed down 100 percent today and in Northern Unity State about 85 percent of the facilities started shutting down already and should closed by tomorrow.

He added that the government discovered that some oil was being accounted as Sudan’s share during the shutdown.

The minister accused Petrodar, a Chinese oil company, for increasing its production against the directive of the government.
