The Catholic Diocese of Torit yesterday announced that one of its priests has died in a Nairobi Hospital in Kenya.
Fr Silvesto Lohoranya died in a Catholic-run hospital after he was admitted there for the last six years.Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek of Torit, announced that Fr Silvesto passed away at 5 PM on Sunday.
He explained that the sad news was sent to him through Juba Archdiocese and confirmed by one sister in charge of the hospital.
He said Fr Silvesto was in the Catholic Diocese of Torit during the war until he was captured by the SPLA forces and was released when he became sick.
Bishop Akio added that he was sent to Nairobi and then later went to Khartoum for further treatment where he stayed for few years before he returned to Torit.
