A 35-year old Ugandan man was stabbed to death last week by an unknown assailant in his house at Hai Dar Salaam neighbourhood, in Yei town.
Yei River County Commissioner, Elia Wai Wai, told Radio Easter over a telephone interview that the man whose name has not been revealed was stabbed to death with a knife after an unknown person opened his door.He explained that the man was in the bedroom with his wife and someone opened his door and attacked him and they wrestled then he was stabbed and died at the spot.
Mr Elia appealed to headmen and chiefs in the different residential areas in Yei town to know their residents and identify the newcomers to those neighbourhoods who are there to commit crimes.
He said chiefs and headmen have been instructed to be cautious and report people who are suspected to be criminals to police.
The commissioner added that the security forces in the county will continue their consolidated efforts to maintain safety and investigate the murder.
This is the second incident of stabbing to death a Ugandan national.
Last week a Ugandan national, said to be from Arua District was also stabbed to death at his house in Yei.
