GOVERNOR BAKASORO WANTS EQUATORIANS TO SPEARHEAD PEACE IN SOUTH SUDAN

Western Equatoria governor has urged the three states in Equatoria to spearhead the peace process in South Sudan and stand in solidarity with the people of Jonglei State.

Governor Joseph Bangasi Bakasoro revealed that the leaders in Greater Equatoria are planning to visit Jonglei state to show solidarity and convey a message of peace for the people affected by the violence, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He said Equatorians share the pain of the people of Jonglei state.

Mr Bakasoro said that the unity of South Sudanese people can only be realised through Equatoria, urging the leaders in the three states to commit themselves to change the whole country with their good leadership and development oriented mind.

The governor reiterated the Equatorians’ position during last year Equatoria Conference that its land will not be use by any insurgency that would like destabilizes the government of the new republic.

He said that Equatoria will not be used as a football pitch for any aggression against South Sudan.

Mr Bakasoro called on the people of Eastern Equatoria to be vigilance against conflicts among citizens urging them to stand in solidarity with states that are experiencing some sort of tribal conflicts.

The governor was speaking yesterday in Torit during the Signing of the Eastern Equatoria Transitional Constitution and swearing in of Governor Louis Lobong Lojore.
