A team of eye specialists that offered free services at Eastern Equatoria state hospital in Torit is now heading to Katiko Hospital in Kapoeta County.
However, the team has run out of eye glasses to offer to those patients diagnosed with vision problem.Team leader Sture Nyholm told Radio Emmanuel that his team will start the free eye service in Katiko Hospital today, but they do not have eye glasses to give to patients.
Dr Nyholm said that more than 500 patients with eye problems received their free services at Torit Hospital during their one-week stay.
He noted that elderly persons were the majority of clients facing eye problems in Eastern Equatoria state and that is due to exposure to direct sunlight and nutritional factors.
The free eye care service is supported by Christian Blind Mission.
