Minibuses stopped transporting passengers from Yei to Juba on Saturday over a dispute between the Union and Yei Bus Park administration about fees charged to owners for using the facility.
The Yei branch of Central Equatoria Transport and Drivers Union has suspended minibus services from Yei to Juba on Saturday evening in protest to the high fees authorities charge owners for using the Yei Bus terminal, Radio Easter reported.Union representatives sat with County and Bus Park authorities this morning in a closed-door meeting trying to negotiate a way out for the standoff.
A source at the County said drivers are being threatened with beatings if they are caught transporting passengers from Yei to Juba.
It added that passengers in urgent need to travel to Juba have to catch a minibus far away from Yei to avoid problems.
