The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and the Communist Party of China yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding on various fields of economic and health co-operation.
Antipas Nyok, SPLM secretary for political affair and mobilization, told the press that China is willing to send large medical teams to improve health services in South Sudan, Bakhita Radio reported.He added that the Chinese delegation signed a number of development programmes to alleviate poverty in South Sudan.
Mr. Antipas said the SPLM will do all that it can to engage with active economic players around the world to come to South Sudan to improve living standards in the new country.
Ai Ping, who spoke on behalf of the Chinese delegation, said the main purpose of the visit was to reconfirm the relationship between the SPLM and the CPC, the Communist Party of China.
Mr Ping added the visit aimed also to promote mutual understanding and explore cooperation between the Republic of China and the Republic of South Sudan.
SPLM and CPC representatives signed a number of agreements to strengthen bilateral ties.
