The administration of the University of Bahr el-Ghazal has announced that the institution will reopen officially at end of this month after almost one year’s recess.

Delegates of the university administration met Evesio Kone Ugwak, the acting governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal and minister of local government, on Wednesday and reported about the general situation at the university after a water shortage which led students to rally in the streets a few days ago, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

Themouty Tellar, head of the delegation and chancellor of the university, said the administration solved the water problem at the university compound.

He explained that the administration sat with the students to discuss about the factors that delayed the opening of the university.

Prof. Tellar said preparations are over and the University of Bahr el-Ghazal reopens officially on January 30.

The acting governor acknowledged the cooperation of the state authorities to reopen the university.
