A Catholic priest has called upon all the people of Nuba Mountains and South Kordofan to pray for peace and stability in the state.
Fr L. said people should pray for peace and appeal to leaders to bring about peace.The priest added that residents in Nuba Mountains cannot continue suffering calling on people of good will to bring about peace.
He said he fears the region will suffer from hunger because the war affected this year’s cultivation.
Fr L. stated that people are not happy with the government because the authorities are bombing civilians.
He added that the government is also waging an economic war against Nuba Mountains by blocking trade, not changing the old currency and affecting food production through the war.
He called for international community to intervene in order to end the war.
Fr L remarked that God will bring out something good to of the current war and he will put an end to it.
