A volunteer group called Concerned Citizen X South Sudan is urging people to donate food and other items to the victims of the latest inter-tribal calshes in Pibor, Jonglei State.

Ayom Wol, the spokesperson for Concerned Citizens X South Sudan, explained to CRN News that the group is made of members from all communities in the country with the aim to address issues of communal violence and tribalism.

She said the group was prompted by the recent violence in Jonglei state where many unarmed South Sudanese Ð women, children and old people Ð were killed and many others displaced.

Ms Wol stressed that the group is not interested in blaming people but would like to help those in need in Pibor right now.

She urged well-wishers to donate baby milk to the 150 orphans and unaccompanied children in Pibor together with food, water containers, utensils, mosquito nets and bed sheets.

Ms Wol told those ready to contribute to leave their donations in the church where they go for Sunday prayers or deliver them at the Roots Project in Juba’s Hai Nimratalata, opposite the basketball stadium.
