The staff of a radio station in Nuba Mountains is running a school of English at a local hospital to help patients who have been admitted to spend their time.

The course of English started in September.

A teacher of English at the hospital said there are two groups of learners: children and adults.

Each group has a daily one and half hour lesson in English.

The teacher said the number of the pupils in the school at the hospital varies because some patients are discharged and new ones are admitted for treatment.

He added that currently there are 25 adults and 20 children attending English lessons at the hospital school.

Many of the patients admitted to the hospital are recovering from wounds suffered during bombardments in Nuba Mountains.
