Farmers in Nuba Mountains have warned the cattle owners to keep their animals away from fields in order not to destroy their crops.
A local source said many crops have been eaten by cattle in areas like Alubi and Om-Durudo in Kumbur payam.The source added that if the animals are found eating crops, the owners should pay the damages.
The war that started in Southern Kordofan in June had displaced a number of cattle keepers from their original places.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
