YOUNG STAR FC BEATS GONUZAGA FC IN LAKES GOVERNOR’S CUP

Young Star FC hammered Gonuzaga FC in Lakes Governor’s Tournament Cup on Sunday afternoon, winning two-nil at Rumbek Freedom Square.

Sabit Mangui, the acting coach of Young Star FC, told Good News Radio that he was proud with the performances of his team adding that they deserved the victory.

He said the team has three points and two goals which is a good start.

Mr. Mangui said he has high expectations of winning all the games.

He expressed disappointment with the referee’s performance allowing the adversaries to play a tough game injuring the team’s star.

Abraham Mapuor Mathiang, who coaches Gonuzaga FC, said his team played very hard to win but could not manage due to some obstacles experienced during the match.

He blamed the referee for the final result.

Mr. Mapuor said he expected his team to win.

He called upon the football administration to teach the football rules to the referees.

He urged the football authorities in Lakes State to promote the sport in order to nurture the talents of young stars in the State.

The Governor’s Tournament Cup is a daily competition involving 16 teams that began on November 16 and is expected to end on December 25.
