The alarming rate of road accidents in Yei River County has been reduced through intensive police patrolling.
Yei River County Inspector of Traffic Police Abraham Mading told Radio Easter that road accidents have decreased because his staff increased road patrols.Mr Mading urged motorbike riders known as boda-boda and drivers to pay attention to people walking on the roads.
He added that many people do not know the meaning of traffic signals due to the long civil war.
Mr Mading appealed to the community to cooperate with the Traffic Police adding the officers are not enemies but serve the interests of the population.
