The implementation of the Governors’ Forum resolutions will make South Sudan a democratic country.

Western Bahr el-Ghazal State Assembly Speaker Andrea Mayar told Voice of Hope on Saturday after his arrival at Wau airport that the forum was a success because it gave each state a chance to present its achievements and challenges.

The speaker said the main agenda focused on how the states can deliver services to their citizens and the participants were able to tackle all problems South Sudan faces.

Mr. Mayar explained that there will be another forum in the near future where different committees are expected to reports on the tasks they were assigned by the forum.

He added that, if implemented, the recommendations of the Governors’ Forum will allow good service delivery to the rural areas and make South Sudan a leading example of democracy in less than three years.

The Governors’ Forum was organized by the Office of the President under the theme “Strengthening decentralized governance in South Sudan for equitable service delivery and sustainable development.”
