The Sacred Heart parish in Tonj, Warrap State, celebrated yesterday the feast of Christ the king with great joy and an Eucharistic procession.
James Pulikal, the parish priest, said during his homily that the kingdom of Jesus is made of love, peace and unity and that the foundation of his kingdom is love, Radio Don Bosco reported.He added that good and honest citizens are those who practice peace, love, and unity of the Lord.
Fr. Shyjan, on his turn, said that the only judgment that each one will receive is based on one’s love towards neighbours.
He added that Jesus comes in the form of the poor, blind, handicapped and those in need.
He urged the congregation to be kind and generous towards the needy.
Daniel Kolonga, one of the youth who attended Mass, was impressed with the message of Jesus on the Last Judgment when everyone will be asked to make an account of him or herself.
He urged the community not to neglect the needy and the poor, but be willing to help them.
Mr. Kolonga added that Jesus should be taken as helper, brother and savour.
The celebration of Christ the King was concluded with an Eucharistic Procession up to Tonj prison.
About 600 people attended the feast at Sacred Heart parish, in Tonj.
