The former commissioner of Magwi County in Eastern Equatoria has officially stepped out of office following a letter of dismissal issued by the state governor.

Peter Ochillo Bongomin told Radio Emmanuel that he accepted the decree issued by Louis Lobong Lojore on November 12 relieving him from his post.

He added that he returned from a mission of duty only to find his office locked.

Mr. Ochilo said his removal from office was a normal change and not due to any wrongdoing on his side.

Mr. Ochilo expressed gratitude to the state governor for having entrusted to him Magwi County through the referendum process into the independence of South Sudan.

He appreciated the support from the different communities of Magwi County during his term of office.

He said the next commissioner yet to be named should continue developing the area from where he left it.
