Primary eight pupils in Lakes State began their mock tests in preparation for the final state exams scheduled for December.

Head teacher of St Daniel Comboni School in Rumbek, William Ater, told Good News Radio that the candidates started with the English paper in the morning and sat for the Geography paper in the afternoon.

He confirmed that the candidates will continue with classes after the mock exams end, adding that the school administration will ensure that all candidates are well prepared for the state examination.

In Matangai Primary School, pupils have already concluded their mock examination.

Aguech Manyang Aguech said the tests that started last Wednesday were aimed at preparing the candidates for the State exams.

He added that the mock examination will also be used to identify the areas where pupils need more input from teachers in the remaining days.

Helena Adol, a candidate attending Matangai primary school, said the mock examination was not difficult except for the Maths paper.

She decried lack of enough time for studies due to domestic chores, urging parents to give candidates enough time to prepare for exams.

This is the final examination that primary eight pupils in Lake State will sit for before joining Secondary school early next year.
