A group of NGOs known as Consortium that has been feeding internally displaced persons in Nuba Mountains has run out of food.

Consortium officer Kandi K. said that the NGO is running out of food supplies.

He accused the government of Sudan of denying access to international organizations including UN agencies to distribute humanitarian aid to internally displaced persons in the SPLA-North controlled areas of Nuba Mountains.

Mr K. said the Consortium was trying all means possible to make a breakthrough to bring much needed humanitarian aid to the IDPs.

Mr K. said Sudan’s denial to aid agencies to assist IDPs in Nuba Mountains is a crime against humanity.

He advised the entire community to take care of this year’s harvest because they have to share it with the IDPs until NGOs get food aid in Nuba Mountains.

The war that broke out in June in South Kordofan has caused severe starvation and market prices keep on rising in Nuba Mountains.
