Traders selling outlawed alcoholic drinks have transferred the commodity to other states after Eastern Equatoria government banned dangerous beverages sod in plastic sachets.

Trader John Ngang Mobel told Radio Emmanuel that he had hundreds of cartons of now banned drinks and he shifted them to Malakal.

He said he is still considering stopping importation of the illegal alcoholic drinks and bringing in other goods.

The state government impounded about 600 cartons of the illegal alcohol drinks from a store belonging to Mr. Ngang.

The goods were returned to him with the warning not to sell them in Eastern Equatoria.

The trader complained he lost about 90 cartons and over 100 others damaged while in police custody.

Eastern Equatoria state deputy governor Nartisio Manir Loluke said alcohol damages the minds of the people and became an ally to HIV AIDS in killing the people of the state.

Governor Louis Lobong Lojore signed a resolution passed by the state assembly banning some kinds of alcohol.

Traders had to stop selling the outlawed drinking by last Friday.
