Yei River Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture praised the authorities for putting an end to illegal tax collection checkpoints that are bringing prices down.
Chamber Chairman Tito Ayambu Jokonndo lauded the government of Central Equatoria for removing illegal roadblocks and tax checkpoints in the state that affected business and led to a prices’ hike in the county, Radio Easter reported.He added that the lack of US dollars is still a challenge for many traders.
Mr. Ayambu appealed to consumers to be patient saying that by January prices should come down.
He explained that first traders have to sell the stocks they bought at higher prices.
Mr. Ayambu said a research conducted in Yei River County indicates that some prices like sugar have already dropped by ten percent.
