Local farmers have expressed great economic prosperity as agricultural outputs seem encouraging.
Timon Wani, managing director of Dere Greens, a farm based in Liria County displayed his greens at Nyakuron Cultural Centre with an eggplant weighing 2.5 kg.He said the exhibition is an inspiration to farmers to work hard and grow crops like hibiscus in large scale.
Irra Micheal of Afroganic Farm Limited added that his company has the capacity to supply the local market and expand internationally.
However he said farmers need to have land near the Nile for continuous production.
Mr Michael added the land belongs to individuals and it is difficult for farmers to have access to the river.
He urged the government to enlighten the people to avail their land for development.
Mr Michael explained that two years ago they were renting an allotment in Rajaf at the river bank but the owner stopped them from working there.
