There are reporters working for South Sudan TV and South Sudan Radio who are not receiving a salary because they do not have confirmation letters from the Ministry of Labour.
Information Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin told CRN News that a committee is working to identify files and specific times when those employees were contracted. He said it was true that some employees in his ministry are not receiving their dues.
Dr. Marial added that there are employees who have been working for more than three years without confirmation letters.
He said on the other hand some people are receiving salaries although they do not work in the ministry.
He added that the committee has to identify who really is working at the information and broadcasting ministry to streamline its working force.
Some reporters for South Sudan Radio have been working for the last three months without pay.
They were formally appointed to their jobs but cannot receive a salary because confirmation letters were pending at Ministry of Labour and Public Service.
