South Sudan has made 2.14 billion US dollars with crude exports since it started controlling the oil production after independence.

National petroleum and mining minister Stephen Dhieu Dau announced in a press release that since July 9 his ministry has contracted the sale of 22 million barrels of crude oil.

The crude was shipped to Asian and European markets through Port Sudan, in the Sudan.

Mr. Dhieu said the ministry was developing new petroleum laws to provide a good environment for investors and production operations.
