The Catholic Bishop of Torit returned yesterday to South Sudan with a call for unity among the people in order to build the new nation.

Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek spent over one year in India under medical treatment.

He told the crowd welcoming him at Torit airstrip that people should dialogue together and engage in practical building of the nation without depending on the authorities, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Bishop Akio told Christians and government officials that the new nation can achieve development if the people are united.

He said he was coming to join in the process of nation building.

Bishop Akio expressed gratitude to the people of Eastern Equatoria for their prayers that contributed for his quick recovery.
