The national interior minister admitted today that crime rate in Juba and other major cities is appalling and blamed foreigners for it.
Alsion Manani Magaya told the pres today that foreigners are responsible for most new types of criminality including armed robbery, drugs supply and fake money.He blamed the lack of capacity from the part of law enforcement agencies for the spike in wart he called these very serious criminal offenses.
Mr. Manani said economic crimes are affecting the development of South Sudan.
He added that the police and intelligence services would strengthen vigilance against economic crimes.
Mr. Manani called upon the public to cooperate with the police and report any criminal incidents.
He revealed that the government is setting up an anti-terrorist unit will in the country since South Sudan came number five on a list of countries likely to be affected by terrorism.
