The Archbishop of Juba started yesterday a new parish in South Bari bringing to twelve the number of catholic circumscription in the archdiocese.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro read at the end of the Eucharist he presided in Lo’bonok the document that creates the new parish of St. Matthew Apostle and Evangelist.The Mass marking the beginning of the parish was attended by a huge crowd of faithful, religious and priests.
National Assembly Speaker, James Wani Igga, environment minister Alfred Lado Gore, both from Lo’bonok, Central Equatoria Deputy Governor Manses Lomule, Juba County Commissioner Peter Thomas Gore and traditional chiefs were also among the congregation.
The new parish covers the South Bari area and has half a dozen chapels.
Lobonok, some 75 kilometres South of Juba, is the third parish born from All Saints – Rejaf after St. Vincent de Paul √ɬê Gumbo and St. Thomas √ɬê Mangala, in 1999.
