St. Bakhita Primary School in Narus, Kapoeta East County of Eastern Equatoria, is struggling to re-open due to lack of food.
Matron Sister Susan Claire made a desperate appeal to well-wishers to offer food for the pupils.
She told Emmanuel Radio that St. Bakhita is a boarding schoolsand it needs food to reopen.
Sr. Susan said the school has a total of 480 pupils and it managed to complete last term despite of many difficulties to feed the pupils.
She adds that due to the food crisis, the school closed two weeks earlier.
Sr. Claire said food shortages started affecting St. Bakhita Primary school after CRS, the Catholic Relief Services, ended their school feeding programme in the state last year.
The matron added that Comboni Primary and St. Bakhita Girls’ Secondary School are also facing a food crisis.
