The ministry of interior plans to transform the police forces to answer complaints from the public.
Minister Alison Manani Magaya announced the plan this morning in Juba at the opening of a workshop on small arms control.Mr. Magaya said he is aware that the public complains about the conduct of police officers.
He added that the forces have to be more professional to provide security.
He said transformation can only be achieved through the collective efforts of all security organs.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
