The archdiocese of Khartoum has prepared emergency plans to assist internally displaced people who were forced to leave Blue Nile State following last week’s outbreak of war between government troops and forces loyal to the SPLM-North.

Auxiliary Bishop Daniel Adwok of Khartoum, who is episcopal vicar for the pastoral region of Kosti, which includes Blue Nile, has drawn up emergency plans for the parish of Singa, where thousands of displaced people are gathering.

Bishop Adwok explained that Singa assist the victims of Damazin conflict with food, blankets and some transport money for those who want to travel to Renk, in South Sudan, or to Khartoum or El Obeid, in the Sudan.
