YEI POLICE CONFISCATES HUGE AMOUNT OF DRUGS

Police in Yei River County have confiscated a huge amount of row hashish, called locally opium.

The apprehension comes after a local order banning the use of spirits, marungi and opium, Easter Radio reported.

Yei River County Commissioner Elia Wai-Wai urged people not to smoke drugs, because they have long lasting bad effects.

Chief inspector of police Colonel Garang Atim Akok told the press that the force will implement the order until vice is irradiated from the county.

Jackson Yangu, who was caught with hashish, explained that he plants it as a medicine for sick goats and not for personal use.

He told youths to stop using opium and concentrate on nation building with a fresh mind.
