The Catholic Archbishop of Juba said the new government that was sworn in last week is better than the previous one and asked his colleagues to come out with a public statement at the end of the South Sudan bishops’ meeting.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro told the bishops and heads of diocese of South Sudan during the official opening of their three-day meeting that the reaction to the new cabinet in Juba is positive.

However, he urged the church leaders to listen to what people say about it.

Archbishop Lukudu said the bishops should issue what he called a word to the government and to the country about the current situation.

The leading catholic prelate in South Sudan said the Church is providing good guidance to the new country.
