The Governor of Lakes state has congratulated the President of the Republic and the Council of Ministers for choosing Ramciel as the new capital of South Sudan.
Chol Tong Mayay told the press yesterday at his office in Rumbek that the choice of Ramciel was a courageous decision.He said the dream of Dr. John Garang de Mabior has finally come true.
He added that the government and the people of Lakes State welcome the capital in Ramciel without conditions.
Eng. Tong thanked the chiefs and communities of Yirol East, West and Aweirial counties for offering their land to the Government for free.
He asked the communities to maintain peace in order to welcome guests to the new capital.
Eng. Tong welcomed investors to the region in order to start building the infrastructure of the new capital.
The people of Lakes State started today a two-day celebration to mark the choice of Ramciel for the new capital of the republic.
