The radio station of Catholic Diocese of Yambio went on air today for the first time to start its testing period.

Ignatius Mborihenga, the director of Radio Anisa Ð it means We are one in Zande, told SCR News over the phone that two technicians concluded yesterday their work and the radio was on air today.

He said he was overwhelmed and very happy to be on air for the first time after a long wait.

He added that many Yambio residents were sharing in his joy and congratulating him for having a new station on air.

Fr. Mborihenga added that the staff is doing some extra training.

He said the diocesan administration will decide how long the station will be on air and when it will be inaugurated.

Radio Anisa is the eighth SCRN station on air since 2006.

Next month the network will be complete when Voice of Hope starts airing in Wau. The studios are ready and the works on the mast that will hold its antennas should start this week.
