Yei Electricity Cooperation met yesterday to plan the construction of dam to produce electricity for the county.
Engineer Malish Ismail told Easter Radio the dam will be constructed at Ronyi, in the Yei River.It will have a capacity to generate 17 megawatts of electricity.
Engineer Ismail said the electricity will be distribute to Tore, Lasu, Mugwo and Otogo payams in Yei, and the neighbouring Morobo and Lainya counties.
He explained that the dam will supply low cost electricity to benefit the residents and attract investors.
The new dam will be constructed by a German company.
