Road accidents this month have registered a sharp increase in Yei town.
Inspector of Traffic Police Abraham Mading told Radio Easter that over speeding is the major cause for accidents in Yei’s streets together with inexperienced and underage drivers who fail to keep traffic rules and regulations properly.The Inspector urged all drivers to slow down to reduce accidents which claim lives and money.
Mr. Mading appeal to parents to send their children to school instead of using them to make money by operating boda-bodas, the taxi-motorbikes.
He reiterated that the situation is under control through intensive patrolling by traffic officers.
Mr. Mading warned those who do not respect the traffic rules and regulations that they will be arrested and brought to book.
