COUNCIL OF MINISTERS APPROVES FOUR MAJOR LAWS

The council of ministers today approved four laws to establish the Bureau for Standards, imports and exports regulations, consumer protection and measures and weight.

Information Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin told reporters this evening that the bills were passed after extensive debate and comments from the cabinet members.

Dr. Marial added that the council passed the establishment of custom department and national revenue authority all under the ministry of finance and economic planning.

Dr. Marial explained that the ministers approved the establishment of a customs department assisted by a special force to protect its officials.

He added that the newly approved National Revenue Authority will harmonize the revenue collection in South Sudan.
