The number of stray dogs in the streets of Tonj Warrap state has increased creating fear among residents and the authorities decided to take action to arrest the crisis.

Tonj South County Youth League leader Gabriel Majok told the entire community yesterday during a live show in Don Bosco FM that a Kenyan man died from a dog’s bite.

He added that the victim was bitten by a dog on the Civicon compound in Tonj last week and he died in Rumbek before reaching his country for treatment.

He asked listeners to give their views how to control dogs in town in order to present them to the authorities.

Mr. Majok said he would meet the County commissioner for a final solution to the stray dogs in Tonj.

He added that dogs found loitering in Tonj should be killed.

Susana Amou was the first caller in the pho-in live program. She said dogs were mainly kept in villages for hunting and protection and they are doing nothing in the town.

She thanked the youth leader for discussing the issue with the listeners to find a solution to the problem.
