The commissioner of Pibor County of Jonglei State expressed concerns of a reprisal attack by the Lou Nuer against the Murle people if the government does not beef up security in the state.
Commissioner Akot Mazi told SCR News over the telephone that definitely the Lou Nuer will reorganize themselves and carry a revenge attack against the Murle community if the authorities fail to act again.Mr. Mazi explained that Murle worriors attacked Uror County to revenge for three attacks carried out by the Lou-Nuer in April, May and at the end of June when the government failed to respond.
Asked if he welcomed the deployment of SPLA and police forces in his area, he said they will be most welcomed if they are neutral and should stop aggression from both sides.
More than 600 people died and some 1,000 were wounded in Uror County last week.
