A Kenyan opened today a branch at Bilpam, the SPLA headquarters, to provide easy access credit services.
SPLA deputy chief of staff for administration and finance Lieutenant General Pieng Deng Koul graced the opening, Bakhita Radio reported.Mr. Deng, who was accompanied by other SPLA senior commanders, commended Equity Bank for reaching out to the people of South Sudan, especially the military.
Equity Executive Director Paul Gitahi thanked the government, the Central Bank and people of South Sudan for their support.
He said his institution is willing to foster the development of South Sudan.
Mr. Gitahi added that Equity Bank will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to include sponsoring SPLA senior staff to attend Kenya’s Military Academy.
