NEW GOVERNMENT TO PUT PUBLIC INTEREST FIRST

The members of the new government are expected to make sacrifices and put public interest first in order to deliver basic services and combat corruption and other abuses.

This is the message President Salva Kiir Mayardit left yesterday to all hopefuls eyeing for a place in the first cabinet of the Republic of South Sudan.

Mr. Kiir said the new government has to focus on the development of South Sudan to meet the nation’s great expectations.

Mr. Kiir asked the public to take a firm stand against official corruption and abuse of power.

He added that Southerners have suffered far too long and waited too much to get basic services.

Mr. Kiir said it was time for government officials to put public interests in the forefront and deliver much needed services.

The president announced that the new government should be ready this week and that he would submit the list of ministers to the National Assembly for approvall.
