A mine blast left two farmers dead and a third seriously wounded in the border with DR Congo.
Morobo County Press Secretary Data Moses told SCR News though an e-mail that the indecent happened last Saturday a few meters inside DR Congo’s territory.He explained that the farmers were plowing the land when they triggered a hidden landmine.
The explosion took place at Bazi, eight miles from Morobo county headquarters.
Two men died instantly and a woman was seriously injured.
A de-miner who visited the scene of the blast said the farmers found one anti-tank mine and instead of stopping work they ignored the finding only to trigger a second device hidden a few meters away.
He warned that there were many mines planted in that border area.
He urged people to report any unexploded war objects they may find.
