A media organization has launched a weekly programme to debate issues that affect the new country.

Mading Ngor, editor of New Sudan Vision website, said the program “Our Republic” brings in newsmakers to discuss the hot issues across South Sudan.

He added that the program which will be syndicated nationally aims at building inclusive citizenship in the new country.

The first panel, on Tuesday, hosted Dr. Peter Adwok, federal minister of higher education, and Dr. Alfred Lokuji, acting dean of the University of Juba, who shared their thoughts on the birth of the new nation.

Dr. Adwok commended the debate as educative.

He added that there will be no violence if people can communicate well among themselves.

Dr. Lokuji applauded the initiative.

He said debates are surely needed to be discussed vibrantly at all levels.

He mentioned that discussions will help reduce problems the country faces and assist in developing consensus on ranking solutions.

Dr. Lukuji added that such programs are like a mirror for the political actors to look at themselves and get attuned.
