Juba International Airport will be closed to commercial flights on July 9 in order to receive all the dignitaries invited to the Independence celebrations.

GoSS spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press yesterday that the airport will be closed only on Independence Day to commercial flights to keep the airspace safe for heads of state flying to Juba to attend the event.

Some UN agencies reported that Juba International Airport would be closed from July 7 to 10 to commercial traffic while travel agencies announced a closure on July 8 and 9.
