Malaria is the main disease infecting most people in Tonj South County, Warrap State.
Nurse Aquinata Mukoya works at Don Bosco hospital. She told Don Bosco FM that the majority of patents admitted in the health facility suffer from malaria.
She said other ailments are respiratory infections, diarrhoea, pneumonia, and trauma and wound cuts from fighting.
Sr. Aquinata urged the parents of children suffering from watery diarrhoea to bring their infants immediately to the hospital for prompt treatment.
Sr. Aquinata said the hospital receives more than 120 people per day since the rains started and the staff had to increase working hours to attend their patients.
The nurse added that the hospital has currently five in-patients for emercency treatment.
