ÒPROMISED LANDÓ NEEDS PEACEMAKERS

The people of South Sudan have to be peacemakers in order to overcome challenges and build the new nation.

This was the call left by the Provincial of the Comboni Missionaries in South Sudan during yesterday’s visit to Torit, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Fr. Daniel Moschetti presided over the English Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Torit. He said the independence of South Sudan on the July 9 marks beginning of a long journey.

He urged the people of South Sudan to be hard working, practice justice, make peace, reconcile and protect children, women and the elderly, if the new nation is to be a success.

Fr. Daniel said every citizen and institution has to do its best to make South Sudan a viable country.

He added that it is up to the South Sudanese to make the new country the land of milk and honey.

Fr. Daniel said if people work together God blesses their effort.

Fr. Daniel was in Torit to celebrate the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ with the local community and pay a visit to he diocesan authorities.

He was accompanied by vice provincial Fr. Joe Vieira, who is the news editor of Sudan Catholic Radio Network.
