Eastern Equatoria MPs and state ministers have joined the state national anthem choir rehearsal in preparation for South Sudan independence proclamation.
National anthem choir training team leader Wani Julius Roman told Emmanuel Radio that the exercise started with school choirs at Torit Day and Dr. John Garang Memorial School while the public choir was trained at Catholic Diocese of Torit premises.Members of the Assembly and the executive officials have also joined as the new anthem gathers momentum in the state.
Mr. Wani said he was impressed with the quick ability of senior officers to pick up the lyrics, rhythms and tune of the national anthem.
The trainer said the people of Eastern Equatoria were eager to learn the national anthem.
Mr. Wani says they would combine some of the county choirs at one place to cover the entire state.
Greater Kapoeta and Budi counties will meet in Kapoeta South.
Meanwhile, another programme is set for Magwi, Ikotos and Lafon/Lopa counties as the team is running out of time and independence is fast approaching.
