The Civil Society Task Force has requested the amendment of article 101 of the South Sudan Transitional Constitution, which vests too many powers in the President of the Republic.
Lorna Merekaje, on behalf of the organization, expressed the request yesterday during the Public Forum of the South Sudan Legislative Assembly. The forum was attended by over 50 people and about 20 submitted their comments.
Concerns were expressed also on the appointment of Deputy Ministers, who would increase the size of the executive and drain financial resources.
The forum was organised with the support of the International Republican Institute.
